Former Manchester United star, Gary Neville, has lauded Cristiano Ronaldo for breaking the football goalscoring record.

Ronaldo’s hat-trick for Man United against Tottenham on Saturday saw him break another goalscoring record.

Ronaldo then broke the record with goal number 806 of his career with a tap-in to put Man United 2-1 up later in the first-half.

He, however, extended his goals tally to 807 in the second half.

Neville, on commentary for the Tottenham meeting, said: “That record is absolutely outrageous, 805 goals at international and club level, well done to him, what a player.”

He added: “I was just about to say how safe this game was, tentative, nothing happening, no expression and then an absolute explosion of brilliance from Cristiano Ronaldo.
