No fewer than about 11,419 in the number of candidates were booked for various forms of malpractice in the just concluded 2022 Senior School Certificate Examinations ( SSCE) External examinations as against 4,454 in 2021, which results were released yesterday at the Conference Hall of its Headquarters in Minna, Niger State by the Registrar / Chief  Executive of the Organization Professor Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi.

Professor Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi added that the problem “shows a sharp rise in the number of malpractice cases”, stressing that this is largely due to improvement in the strategy and technique adopted by the monitoring officers that has led to the blacklisting of four( 4) supervisors, one ( 1) each from Rivers and Plateau States and two( 2) from Ogun State for aiding and abetting as well as poor supervision”.

The NECO Registrar/ Chief Executive stated further that the number of Candidates who got five  (5) credits and above, including English Language and Mathematics is 33,914, representing 57. 36 per cent, saying that also 46,825 candidates representing 79.20 per cent got five ( 5) credits and above irrespective of English Language and Mathematics”.

Accordingly, he said, “Distinguished Ladies and gentlemen at this point, it is my pleasure however unfortunate stated this while declaring the release of the results of the 2022 Senior School Certificate Examination( SSCE) External results released”.

He instructed access to their results on the NECO official website using their examination registration number.

Meanwhile, Prof Wushishi noted that the debt profile of NECO, is presently below N3 billion, adding that some state governments have started paying the debts being owed by the National Examinations body for the conduct of the internal SSCE examinations by NECO.
