The Chief Judge (CJ) of the Federal High Court, Justice John Tsoho, has sanctioned the reassignment of 94 judges across divisions of the Federal High Court nationwide.
This move comes with a stipulated deadline for the assumption of duties in their new postings by January 8, 2024.
The motive behind this reshuffling is to bolster the workforce and enhance the equitable allocation of judicial officers, especially following the recent appointment of 23 new judges to the Federal High Court.
According to a statement from Justice Tsoho’s office, the redeployment was prompted by “the appointment of 23 new judges and other imperatives,” as it aims to optimise the distribution of judges across various divisions.
The major locations affected by the shuffling of Federal High Court judges include Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Benin, and Kano.
