……Holds One Day Retreat To Sensitize Pensioners

Management of the Federal Polytechnic Offa led by Engr. Dr. Kadiri Kamoru Oluwatoyin FNSE has announced free medical check-ups for the Polytechnic retirees.

The Rector announced this during ‘I am Alive’ retreat organized for the Pensioners by the Pension and Passages Unit of the Institution on Tuesday, July 25, 2023.

‘I am Alive’ is a web-based application designed to confirm the aliveness of pensioners. The confirmation and verification process will be carried out on Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate’s (PTAD) website to routinely confirm whether pensioners are still alive and ensure continuous payment of their monthly pension.

Dr. Kadiri in his opening remarks extended regards to the Polytechnic pensioners and thanked God for their exemplary lives. The Rector advised the retirees to always watch their diet and urged them to embrace the idea of checking themselves medically to know their health status.

Speaking on his plan for retirees, he said the ‘I am Alive’ retreat will be coming up intermittently in the Polytechnic and will always cover health talk, and free medical check-ups among other programs that will benefit retirees.

The Rector who ordered the commencement of the free medical checkup with immediate effect charged the pensioners not to neglect the Polytechnic because they are no longer in service. He admonished that their collective efforts are important to move the institution to a greater height.

Responding on behalf of the pensioners, Mr. Bambe thanked Dr. Kadiri’s led management for organizing the retreat, he noted that the retreat supposed to be held online but was organized physically through the Rector’s magnanimity.

Mr. Bambe who noted that the retreat is not common in Polytechnics in Nigeria thanked the Rector for his love and support to ensure retirees are living fine after their service years.

While commending the Rector for free medical check-ups for pensioners, he urged his retired colleagues to support Dr. Kadiri’s administration and continue to pray for his successful tenure.

According to him, “The Rector has shown love to retirees and wants good living conditions for us. This retreat was supposed to be done online but when we visited him to congratulate him on behalf of the pensioners, he promised us that the retreat will be held physically for all pensioners to benefit and know the importance of the programme. On behalf of the retirees, I thank the Rector for the free medical check-up because it is a privilege.

The Federal Polytechnic Offa is lucky to have Dr. Kadiri as Rector and I urge everyone to continue to pray for his administration for the growth and development of the Polytechnic.”

Subsequently, the Deputy Registrar, Pension and Passages, Barr. Tunde Amosun took the retirees through the question and answer session and enlightened them on the process and procedure to be followed to register for online confirmation of pensioners under the Defined Benefit Scheme (DBS) for the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate ( PTAD ).
