Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has submitted a proposed supplementary budget of over N50 billion to the State House of Assembly for consideration.

However, the supplementary budget was presented during a plenary session presided over by the Speaker, Hon. Isma’il Jibril Falgore.

Hon. Falgore informed the House that the executive is seeking the approval of the House in accordance with Sections 121(a) and (b) of the 1999 Constitution.

He further disclosed that the state government highlighted that the proposed supplementary budget for 2023 is necessary to sharpen the focus of the government and accelerate the execution of priority projects to deliver its objectives.

In another development, the House has called on the state government to construct a road from Mahuwa through Janguza Gari to Durum.

This call came after a motion was moved by the Deputy Speaker, who also represents the Rimin Gado/Tofa constituency, Alhaji Muhammad Bello Butu Butu.

The motion was seconded by the member representing Kiru, Alhaji Usman Abubakar Kiru, and was supported by the lawmakers.

The lawmakers also adopted a resolution and called on the state government to establish a fire service office in Garko local government, in a motion moved by Alhaji Murtala Muhammad Kadage.

In addition to this, other motions adopted include the provision of portable drinking water from the Wudil water treatment plant to Gano, Dawakiji, Zogarawa, Yar Gaya, and Jido, all in the Dawakin Kudu Local Government area.

Similarly, the Kano State Systematic Land Titling Registration Bill, 2023, has passed its first reading, presented by the Clerk and Head of Legislative Services, Alhaji Ali Maje.

The House then adjourned the sitting to Tuesday, September 26, 2023, in a motion moved by the Majority Leader, Lawan Husaini Dala, and seconded by Sule Lawan Shuwaki.
