Nigerian chef, Mr Tope Adebayo also known as Tope Maggie who ended a 200-hour cooking marathon on Saturday is gathering evidence, to get the Guinness World Records (GWR) verdict on his attempt.

Spokesperson for Tope Maggie’s GWR attempt, Benjamin Orji made this known in a statement made available to the Nigerian Tribune, on Sunday.

Orji, in the statement, disclosed that Tope Maggie cooked 411 meals, both local and continental, between Thursday, November 9, at 18:31Hrs and Saturday, November 18, at 02:40Hrs.

This, he noted, meant that Tope Maggie had completed the longest cooking marathon beating Alan Fisher’s record of 119 hours, 57 minutes.

The statement read: “The project team is currently gathering all pieces of evidence required and as stipulated in the Guinness World Records so as to have their official verdict.
“The longest cooking marathon category in the Guinness World Records was attempted by Prince Tope Adebayo fondly called Chef Tope Maggie.

“The quest started on Thursday, November 9th, 2023 at 18:31Hrs. and ended on Saturday November 18th, 2023 at 02:40Hrs.

“In the course of the 200 Hours Cooking Marathon, Chef Tope Maggie cooked Four Hundred and Eleven (411) different meals, both local and continental.

“The project team appreciates Nigerians and people around the globe for the unquantified efforts and supports to Prince Tope Adebayo (Chef Tope Maggie).”
