Rapper and singer, Remilekun Shafau aka Reminisce has stated that he can’t be under pressure to remain relevant in the music industry.
Reminisce made this known during a chat with Ebuka Obi-Uchendu on the delay in the release of his album, Alaye Toh Se Gogo, his stint on Kemi Adetiba’s ‘King of Boys’ and his future as an actor.
During their chat, Ebuka had remarked that the history of music and accomplishment will put a lot of pressure on people like Reminisce but he refuted the claim saying he’s not under pressure.
“Errrrm… Me, personally, no, it doesn’t. I just try to do what I should do and what I can do. At every point in Nigerian music history, there are people who will be pioneers. Say for the modern rap game, you have Ruggedman, Modenine, and co as pioneers.
“For our side of the map, Lord of Ajasa, Olamide, myself… For the popstars, you have Wiz, David… For the new school, you would have someone like Ckay… I can’t be under pressure, I can only do what I can do and hope for the best.”
Reminisce has released five albums in his sparkling music career and won several awards including Headies and nomination at AMAA for his role in ‘King Of Boys’ in 2019.
