At this crucial time in our political life and decision making, what we need as good people of Ijesa North Federal Constituency is a new direction through an experienced, visionary courageous, highly connected, humble, selfless, passionate, accessible, intellectual, courageous, reliable, energetic and incorruptible lawmaker at the Green Chamber of the Nigeria National Assembly.
It’s our responsibilities as a concerned constituents and major stakeholders to collectively liberate our constituency from the captivity of a single man who has successfully bought over many dissent and leading voices and connived with very few incorrigible individuals to massively enrich themselves with our collective patrimony.
From Ijebu-Jesa to Ipetu-Ijesa, Ibokun, Owena-Ijesa, Iloko-Ijesa, Erin-Ijesa, Imesi-Ile, Esa-Oke, Otan-Ile, Ere-Ijesa, Ilase-Ijesa, Ipetu-Ile, Ilo-Ayegunle, Iwoye-Ijesa, Esa-Odo, Ijeda, Erin Oke, Iwaraja and other communities. Let’s rise to preserve the future of our children and incoming generations. ‘Enikan kii je ki le o fe’. If truly as parents we believe in the future of our children; as youths realize we have potentials to be great leaders without compromise and as constituents desire a secured and greater future to be proud of by this generation and beyond. It’s high time to stop providing blind support to a single man who has mortgaged our progress, diverted and converted to self-property, our developmental materials.
As holder of juicy positions from Chairman, House Committee on Defence to Chairman, Procurement to Chairman, Public Accounts in the Federal House of Representatives, Ijesa North Federal Constituency should by now be one of the best constituencies flooded with physical and laudable projects of the Federal Government. Not only has he diverted our projects but has also failed to site any of his businesses in his self-acclaimed loved constituency which would have helped grow our economy.
He used his years as member of the ruling party in the National Assembly to aggressively enriched himself and acquired endless wealth. To remain self-enrich and one of the richest if not the most richest law maker in Nigeria; he betrayed his party guidelines in the emergence of officers of the House of Representatives claimed his action is in the interest of Nigeria and primarily to the benefits of his constituency to gain central government sympathy for needed projects because he can’t deliver on his mandate as opposition member.
One we have to asked where is now the Federal Government presence in the constituency as claimed by all time Chameleon politician. The fact remains that the self-serving representative has not only gotten enough projects allocation as projected but has continued to converted and diverted same to personal use as usual. He was also hugely rewarded for playing the opposition game to work against the interests of his party, People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the arrangements of officers of the House of Representatives with one of the most powerful office. Both his powerful offices and years in service hasn’t translated to iota of progress in the life of his constituents and constituency.
This clarification is necessary to set the record straight in his defense to blame his unproductive years of representation on being a member of opposition party. No achievements to his credits as a member of ruling party, holder of juicy positions and senior ranking member of the National Assembly for almost 20 years except ghost projects, frivolous and spurious claims.
We have put him on challenge to roll out his achievements which were assessed by unbiased and apolitical constituents and he was adjudged a woeful failure.
To this end, we must try a new hand and fresh ideas that will usher in the needed representation. A critical analysis and background checks of candidates to the Green Chamber has swung the pendulum of good human qualities and expected people’s representation on no one than Barrister David Oluwaseun Odofin.
Hon. Seun Odofin, until he made up his mind to rescue his people out of political servitude, was the Special Adviser on Administration to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila. He was born over fifty years ago to the family of Adekanmi Odofin.
Hon David Seun Odofin is a graduate of law from the University of Abuja and was called to bar. He started his tertiary education from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife where he studied Local Government Administration after which he joined travel industry and later established a travel consultancy to provide good customer services for multinational companies.
He became Senior Legislative Aide to Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila in 2003 and climbed the ladder to the position of Special Adviser on Administration to the Hon. Speaker of the House of Representatives.
A consummate results-oriented administrative professional with vast experience in organizational procedures, office operations and delegating tasks to administrative assistants. An astute communicator and collaborator who is efficient in planning, organizing, and executing meetings and conferences. He has been in charge of staff administration and office management. He has many professional courses to his credit including World Bank and National Assembly Improvement Courses.
