Vacant Stool: Iloko Ijesa Youth Begs Governor Oyetola Over Prolonged Declaration Of King

Youths in Iloko-ijesa, a town in Oriade local government have implored the Osun State Government under the leadership of Mr. Gboyega Oyetola to approve a king for the community after 8 years of vacant stool.

 

Nationnewslead assembled that the peaceful protesters were seen with placard in their hands with different inscriptions such as Enough Is Enough, Iloko-Ijesa Nfe Oba, Odún Méjo Laisi Oba Ó tó gé, Ìlú Àláfìa ni ìlú iloko-ijesa, Our king is taking longer time, fún wa ni Oba wa Oyetola, Iloko is a peaceful community, 8years without a king, E fún wa lóna, No Development in iloko since 2012 among others.

 

The concerned youths who pleaded with Governor Oyetola to please do the needful by announcing the choice of the town that emerged overall winner among the Princes presented during an election that was conducted by the Iloko Ijesa Chiefs and warrant kingmakers.

 

According to the Coordinator of the protested youths, Chief Kehinde Odeyemi during an engagement with Nationnewslead correspondent said the town has been on a stand still for the past 8years without a king as the community have been suffering without having a King,

Chief Odeyemi however begged the Osun State Governor to please approve a substantive king for the ancient Community.

 

He reiterated that the people of Iloko-Ijesa are law abiding and peacemaker as they are not happy with the situation on ground.

 

On his part, TPL Jacob Omojola while addressing the youths gave him support to the agitation of the protested youths and noted that Iloko Ijesa is looking ng over due for a traditional ruler after the demise of Oba Oladele Olashore in 2012.

 

He however sighted the immediate emergency of replacements for the positions of Oni of Ife, Oniwoye of Iwoye, Elegbero of Ijebu Ijesa, Olomo of Omoo Ijesa and so many kings after the demise of their monarchs.

 

While lending his voice, Comrade Olorunfemi Olatunji who also represent the youths also appreciated the Good work Governor Oyetola has commenced in Osun State so far and called for the continuous follow-up and completions of all set projects.

 

Comrade Olatunji however described Governor Oyetola as a man of peace and also a good listener that will listen to voice of iloko-ijesa youths concerning the prolonged Kingship issue.

The Comrade thereafter appealed to the State government of Osun to do the needful.

 

The representative of the head of Civil Defense in Oriade Local Government also commended the protesters maturity during the peaceful protest and urged them to continue to be law abiding and encouraged them to be sensitive so as not to allow hoodlums hijack the protest next time they want to come out for another protest.

 

He also advised the protesters to continue using there noise mask to curb the spread of Covid-19.
