Hon Dr Agbasonu expressed worry that even security personnel are not safe and have been unable to uncover these criminal elements, despite efforts of the state government, pointing out that two police officers, one of them, a Divisional Police Officer, DPO, were killed recently, in a fuel station, at the Ahiara junction.

He said: “i condemn this act of bloodletting, evil and wickedness in Mbaise nation. I am aware of the efforts of His Excellency Governor Hope Uzodimma in fighting insecurity in the state”.

The legislator therefore calls for the beefing up on security in Mbaise nation, with the setting up of checkpoints on Aboh Mbaise Junction, Chokoneze Junction, Achingali Junction, Ahiara Junction, Amuzu Junction as well as making provision for more patrol vehicles and other logistics to fight crimes in the area.

He extended his condolences to the bereaved families while condoling with the State Governor, the Imo State Commissioner Of Polic, and the Inspector General Of Police.

Seconding the motion, the Chief Whip and Member Representing Oru East State Constituency, Hon Chigozie Nwaneri with other co-sponsors, Hon Sam Nkem Otuibe (Ahiazu Mbaise), Hon Engr Dr Bernard Ozoemelam (Ehime Mbano), Hon Benneth Worship Ebonine (Njaba), Hon Uzoma Francis Osuoha (Ohaji/Egbema) strongly condemned the dastardly murders and called on the Imo State Commissioner of Police to fish out the culprits, without further delay.
