The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority Management has stated that any performer or filmmaker discovered wearing the Agency’s uniform or any associated colour, kits, or accessories without permission from the government will face prosecution.

Adebayo Taofiq, Director of Public Affairs and Enlightenment Department, announced this in a statement released to press on Thursday.

Taofiq described the Agency’s General Manager, Bakare Oki, as saying that the decision was made after seeing a social media video of two actors in bogus LASTMA uniforms being revived by foul means after impaling a white Sienna car on the road.

He warned filmmakers and skit creators who depict LASTMA officers without gaining the required authorization to cease right once or face the full weight of the law.

The statement partly reads, “The Management of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has concluded all necessary arrangements to prosecute any skits or filmmakers caught using the Agency’s uniform or its affiliated colour, kits and accouterments without any authorisation from the Government.

“Mr. Bakare-Oki made this known today after seeing two (2) actors with fake LASTMA uniforms in a viral video on social media where one of them was being revived through a diabolical means after impounding a white ‘Sienna’ space bus on the road.
