Last Friday, April 5, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) charged Bobrisky with six counts, including abuse of the naira and money laundering.

While the court dismissed the money laundering charges, Bobrisky pleaded guilty to four counts of naira abuse. Consequently, on Friday, April 12, he was sentenced to six months in prison for naira abuse without the option of a fine.

However, reports surfaced on Monday claiming that Bobrisky had appealed his sentencing and requested the appellate court to overturn the six-month imprisonment.
