A middle-aged man said to have run amok has reportedly stabbed one of the officers on duty at the Kwara state Command of the Correctional facility, Oke Kura, Ilorin on Friday morning.

Tribune Online gathered that the incident caused pandemonium in the area as a gunshot went off and hit a nearby vulcanizer when the assailant and the officer, in self defence, struggled between themselves.

It was gathered that the vulcanizer was immediately rushed to a nearby health facility, while the assailant was also overpowered, handcuffed and arrested by police officers from ‘C’ Division.

The assailant, identified as Kazeem Adam, 28 and said to be on drugs, was said to have earlier attacked neighbours around the Correctional Centre before the final onslaught on the officer at their gate.
