The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), has congratulated the new governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, as the students’ union also expressed condolences to the people of Ondo State on the demise of the late governor, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu.
This was contained in a letter signed by the President of the Senate of NANS, Comrade Akinteye Babatunde Afeez, on Thursday and addressed to the new governor.
The letter reads: “I hope this letter finds you well as you assume the important role of leading our beloved Ondo state. First and foremost, I want to express my heartfelt condolences on the passing of the former governor, Arunkunrin Rotimi Akeredolu.
“His legacies will always be remembered. As I, on behalf of all Nigerian Students, write to congratulate you on your inauguration as the Executive Governor of our dear Sunshine state, I am also using this medium to assure you of our confidence in your leadership skills and willpower to govern us effectively.
“And just like we did with the former governor, we are ready to stand by your side and contribute to the progress and development of our state as we believe that, together, we can achieve great things.
“I also want to use this opportunity to charge you with the responsibility of meeting the expectations that come with being the leader of our state. We believe in your ability to address the challenges we face and to make a positive difference in the lives of the people of Ondo state. Your dedication, vision, and commitment to public service will be crucial in shaping our future.
“Education is a vital aspect of our society, and I encourage you to prioritise the improvement of our educational system. Investing in our schools, supporting our teachers, and creating opportunities for students to thrive will have a lasting impact on the future of our state.
“In conclusion, I pray that the good lord shall provide you with the full wisdom and needed knowledge to pilot the affairs of Ondo State successfully and I also want to assure you of the unflinching support and trust of the students and residents of Ondo State. We are ready to work hand in hand with you to build a brighter future for our state.
“Together, we can overcome challenges, embrace opportunities, and create a prosperous and inclusive Ondo State for all. With sincere appreciation and high hopes”.
