The National Assembly, NASS Complex located in the Three Arms Zone, Abuja was on Tuesday shut down by the officials of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) in compliance with the nationwide industrial action of the organised labour unions in protest to the attack on its President, Comrade Joe Ajaero in Imo State.
Consequently, human and vehicular movements were prevented from the premises.
Both the Lawmakers of the two Chambers and the Staff of the National Assembly, Journalists and others were locked out as the entrances into the Complex were locked.
However, after hot arguments, the Labour Officials opened one of the gates for Journalists during which few others managed to struggle into the Complex.
As of the Press time, both Chambers are yet to be opened thus creating the fears that Plenary seasons may not hold.
One of the officials of the Parliamentary Association of Nigeria, PASSAN, NASS Branch told newsmen that the directive of the NLC on the ongoing strike action was being effected at NASS.
