Emir of Lapai Alhaji Umaru Bago Tafida III has approved the appointment of Alhaji Mohammed Umar Bina as the new Dagacin Bina( Village Head) in Lapai Local Government Area of Niger.

He gave the approval during the presentation of the selected nominee to the Emirate Council, at the emir’s palace in Lapai on 13th December, 2023 while he prayed for both the deceased and New Dagacin Bina.

The representatives of the four ruling houses comprising Yaba, Anama, Rokoba and Saije had unanimously endorsed Alhaji Mohammed Umar a descendant of Etsu Mazza Saije ruling house and was presented to the Royal Father, who officially acknowledged him as the new Village Head of Bina community.

The Emir urged the community to support the new Dagacin Bina who is a retired healthcare worker in the State Ministry of Health and Hospital Services in order to ensure peace, tranquility and meaningful growth and development in the area.

The Monarch, Alhaji Bago Tafida pointed out that leadership is about patience, consultations, and carrying everybody along to ensure a sense of belonging, unity, peace, stability and growth in the area.

The Royal Father, however, called on the subjects to be supportive, loyal, give better advice to the new Village Head of Bina community, and urge them to be security conscious as well as report any suspicious movements of strangers to the appropriate authorities so as to achieve sustainable peace.

In his acceptance speech, the new Dagacin Bina, Alhaji Mohammed Umar Bina appreciated the King Makers and the entire community, while calling for the support of all in order to succeed during his reign as he took over the throne of his forebearers.

He however assured that his reign would ensure fairness, justice, equal opportunity and a very transparent and accountable leadership for smooth running of affairs of the community in order to enhance peaceful coexistence among the citizens and residents in his domain.

It be recalled that the immediate past Dagacin Bina, late Mallam Haruna Mohammed from Rokoba ruling house died earlier in December 2023 after a protracted illness at the age of 80 years.
