Niger State Governor, Hon. Umaru Bago, has expressed his condolences to the Emir of Suleja, Mallam Muhammadu Awwal Ibrahim, and the entire people of Suleja Emirate following the passing of the Chief Imam of Suleja Central Mosque, Sheikh Dahiru Shu’aibu.

Governor Umaru Bago visited the Emir’s palace in Suleja to offer his condolences.

While praying for the soul of the departed, the Governor urged the people of the Emirate to accept whatever Allah has permitted to happen, as He gives and takes.

The Emir of Suleja, Mallam Muhammadu Awwal Ibrahim, described the late Chief Imam as a peace-loving personality and a bridge-builder. He noted that the deceased had contributed significantly to the development of the Emirate and the state.

The Emir said that the late Sheikh Shu’aibu was one of the finest Islamic Scholars in the Emirate, and he would be missed for his selflessness, commitment, and dedication to his duties.

Late Sheikh Dahiru Shu’aibu was a retired Sharia Court Judge who served in Suleja, Tafa Gurara, Paikoro, and Bida local government areas as a Judge in Sharia Courts.

Born on the 15th of October 1958 in Suleja Local Government, late Sheikh Shu’aibu established Mahmud Sabo Muslim School and authored many Islamic books written in Arabic and Hausa.

He also served on different committees, including the Chairman of the Niger state Quranic recitation competition for four years and a member of the Zakkah committee in Suleja Local Government.

The deceased was appointed as the Salanke Zazzau Suleja in 2001 and was later elevated to Chief Imam of Suleja in 2017 after the demise of the then Imam, Mallam Dantani.

Late Sheikh Dahiru Shu’aibu passed away a few hours after his return from Saudi Arabia.

Similarly, Governor Umaru Bago offered his condolences to the Emir over the passing of his nephew, Mallam Jibrin Inuwa.

Prayers were offered for the repose of the souls of the deceased and for Allah to comfort the people of the Emirate.
