Niger LG to conduct staff screening exercise for verification

The Bida Local Government Council in Niger State has announced plans to start verifying all its staff, including the Primary School teachers listed on the Council’s payroll.

This verification process for both staff categories will commence shortly after the disbursement of the November 2023 salary.

Council Chairman, Honourable Bala Shaba, revealed these plans in a press statement disseminated to journalists on Thursday.

The statement, made available by the Council’s Press Secretary, Ahmadu Babanna in Minna, the state capital, outlined the forthcoming verification process.

The statement further highlighted that all the necessary things needed for the screening exercises were already being prepared and arranged for the smooth conduct of the screening exercise, stressing that the screening officials were fully prepared and equipped to carry out the exercise.

According to the statement, the Council Chairman has directed all heads of departments of education, health, finance, and others to release the screening data forms to each and every staff member to fill for the verification exercise.

It stated further that the Council Boss has advised every staff to comply strictly with information in the data form to avoid unnecessary confusion during the exercise, stressing, that “every staff must come with his or her Six months Bank statement of account effective from May 2023 to November 2023”.

Hon. Bala Shaba was quoted as saying that of utmost important, is that the council will not accept screening by proxy, every staff must be present during the exercise, warning that any staff who failed to participate in the screening exercises shall not received December 2023 salary and subsequent months ahead.

Accordingly, the Council Chairman therefore called on the working staff for maximum support and cooperation for the success of the screening exercises.

Meanwhile, Hon. Bala Shaba has expressed gratitude to the State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago and other concerned authorities for their support to conduct the staff screening exercises, just as he prayed for the continued progress and success of Bida local government council’s Management and workers.
