The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Trustfund Pensions Limited over what it termed “anti-labour practices”

TRIBUNE ONLINE reported NLC had on Tuesday, May 7 shut down business activities at pension offices across the nation.

The industrial action, according to the union, was necessitated by the recent layoff of 45 staff and casualisation of many others, in addition to unfair labour practices being meted out to workers by the organisation.

The protest began at 7 am, with NLC members blocking access to the Trustfund Pensions office located at the Labour House in Abuja, preventing staff from entering the premises.

In latest development, NLC said it has reached agreement with Trustfund Pensions Limited and the latter agreed to immediately implement a N50,000 minimum wage for its outsourced security personnel and cleaners, amongst others.

NLC is expected to further engage the Trustfund Pensions Limited at later date slated for May 13th as sighted in the circular posted on its X handle on Tuesday.
