AN Islamic cleric in Ibadan, Oyo State, Sheikh Sulaiman Olore, has admonished the people to live their lives bearing in mind the need to leave behind enduring legacies.

Similarly, a female Islamic cleric, Alhaja Kafilat Kaola, charged Muslim faithful to be guided by the fact that there is reward for how people lived out their lives after death.

The clerics spoke at the 2023 Jagaban TV Ramadan Lecture with the theme ‘A Life of Significance’, held at the Agodi Gate Motor Parts Market, Ibadan.

While Olore, who was the main speaker at the event, called on people to be fervent in prayer to achieve their desires and accept that God is the doer of all things, Kaola stressed the need for adherence to the dictates of the Qur’an in their daily lives and shun evil acts.

Noting that Muslim faithful live pious lives during Ramadan, the duo said the world would be a much better place if the piety and humility being exhibited during Ramadan are sustained beyond the holy month.

Speaking in the same vein, the Deputy Commandant, Amotekun, Oyo State, Akinro Babalola, said it was noteworthy that crime had reduced in this Ramadan season.

Babalola said the society would be a better place if people do not return to sinful acts after Ramadan.

He charged Muslims to pray for the peace and development of the state and the nation and appealed to the people to embrace peace at all times.

The chairman of Agodi Gate Motor Spare Parts Market, Mr Oladipupo Musbau, asked Muslims to be generous, especially to the needy, in the holy month and beyond.

In a remark, the Chief Executive, Jagaban Communications International, Mr Oluwaseun Adenitan, urged the people to substitute judgment, name calling and castigating others with love and words of encouragement for their fellow humans.

He also urged Nigerians to put behind their differences and support the president-elect, Senator Bola Tinubu, to build a virile Nigeria.
