The All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives candidate for Akoko North West/Akoko North East federal constituency of Ondo State, Ife Ehindero, on Tuesday, said party members and major stakeholders must redouble mobilisation and campaign to win the forthcoming bye-election.

Ehindero also affirmed that party loyalists and supporters should put the intrigues of the primary election behind them and face the task of winning the poll.

The seat became vacant following the resignation of a former elected representative, Mr Olubunmi Ojo, who is now the current Minister of Interior in the cabinet of President Bola Tinubu.

However, in a press statement forwarded to the Nigerian Tribune, the APC candidate contended that “primary election has come and gone, but it is time for us to forge ahead in our resolve to collaborate with other patriots to build a better constituency which we can all be proud of.

The statement reads: “I would like to state that none of the aspirants of the party in the Federal Constituency was a misfit but at the end of the election, someone will definitely be crowned a winner. However, this is a win for all and not for Ife Ehindero alone. I extend a hand of peace and love to other aspirants for us to join hands together in winning the forthcoming bye-election and also in delivering the dividends of democracy to our people.

“The task before us now is how to mobilise voters across the nooks and crannies of the Federal Constituency to do the right thing on the day of the election.

“To the delegates who participated in the primary election, thank you very much for your efforts and sacrifices. To all our supporters, you are much appreciated. As we navigate the intricate landscape of politics, let us remember the essence of our mission. It is imperative that we uphold respect, peace, and unity in our interactions. I urge you to refrain from using offensive language on anyone regardless of their political affiliations. Our strength lies in our ability to foster understanding and collaboration.

“In the spirit of true democracy, let our voices be heard through constructive conversations. Engage with your fellow constituents on one and in groups, emphasising the need for unity and progress. Together, we can build a community that thrives on peace, mutual respect, and shared aspirations,” the statement concluded.
