One person has been killed in an accident that happened on Tuesday in Akungba-Akoko, Akoko South West Local Government Area of Ondo State.
The accident occurred around 3:00 pm when a fully-loaded truck lost control after a failed attempt to ascend a hill in the community.
Several others were said to have been injured in the accident that occurred at the Okerigbo axis of the town.
The victims, identified as passengers of the truck, were said to have sat on the truck which was loaded with pasta when the accident happened.
According to those at the scene of the incident, the truck fell in a ditch after it lost control.
Confirming the accident, the Ikare-Akoko Unit Commander of Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Oluropo Alabi, said his men had begun rescue operation at the scene.
