Gov Adeleke signs 2024 budget into law

N100bn Adeleke’s infrastructure fund: How Osun’s Deputy Speaker broke the code of conduct?

Governor Ademola Adeleke unveils the N100 billion infrastructure development plan on October 27, 2023

Governor Ademola Adeleke is also the Commissioner for Works

The details of these road projects were kept out of public view, especially costs and contractors, until Friday, March 8, 2024, when stakeholders forced the state government to unveil them.

Out of the N100bn infrastructure development fund, the sum of N53,406,214,934 ~ 53bn was allocated to seven projects in the first phase.

Two out of the seven projects, namely, the construction of a four-span bridge across the Osun River and a dual-span bridge across the Erinle River with a sum of N3,937,072,827, were awarded to RAREGEODE, and the duplication of the old garage from Okefia to Lameco Junction with a sum of N5,822,105,829bn was awarded to Acumen Forte Construction.

Both RAREGEODE and Acumen Forte Construction are firms primarily owned by Akinyode Oyewusi (kindly visit the CAC or Google search companies’ names or consult the writer for evidence).

Here is the list of affiliates (directors and shareholders).

Akinyode Oyewusi Abidemi, Relative (Director and Shareholder)

Oluwaseun Oyewusi Akorede, Relative (Director and Secretary)

Fatimah Oyewusi Adeola, wife (director and Shareholder)

Oyewusi Ayomide Ezekiel, Relative (Director and Shareholder)

WHO IS AKINYODE OYEWUSI?

He is the Deputy Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly.

He is a fresh member of the house, and he was made a principal officer of the house, like Speaker Wale Egbedun, ahead of four ranking members because they are favorites of the kitchen cabinet in Adeleke’s administration.

Akinyode Oyewusi won his state assembly election on March 19, 2023.

He was sworn in as a deputy speaker on June 6, 2023.

In an interview with FIJ, an online investigative platform, he disclosed that he resigned as the general managing director of RAREGEODE in the month of March.

However, a document revealed that Oyewusi Akinyode resigned as a general managing director on August 24, 2023, barely three months after he became the Deputy Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly.

This literally means that Oyewusi Akinyode served as a deputy speaker and general managing director of firms that lobbied for contracts from the Osun State Government at the same time.

This is in contravention of the code of conduct.

While stakeholders await the reaction and actions to be taken by the House of Assembly, the abused and taken for granted people of Osun State are in akimbo too.
