Nationnewslead reports that Oriade local government boss, Hon. Bunmi Obeisun on Monday, 6th of September, 2021 announced the commencement of the implementation of its Social Welfare Scheme for the needy, aged and unemployed.
The Oriade caretaker chairman said over five hundreds resident in Oriade local government have benefited from the program.
Under the scheme, 500 beneficiaries already shortlisted, would receive N5,000 each monthly
The Honourable Chairman of Oriade Local Government Area said the reason why he is paying the beneficiary #30,000 now is that his government owed the beneficiaries 6month stipends which are already cleared.
Hon. Bunmi Obeisun who launched the scheme, said beneficiaries cut across various strata of the society.
He said the money was being paid in cash to all the beneficiaries.
According to the chairman, the programme was designed to reduce the financial challenges faced by the beneficiaries.
The chairman assured that in spite the current economic downturn, his administration would still find ways of helping the downtrodden to enable them live in some level of comfort.
He said the beneficiaries cut across the physically-challenged, the albinos, visually-impaired, the aged, among others.
The chairman said no fewer than 500 beneficiaries had received the money on Monday, Sept. 6, 2021 the kick-off date.
