Seun Odofin has advised politicians and all eminent citizens of Osun State to quickly come together in the overall interest of the state for better development.
Odofin, A chieftain of Osun State chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and one-time Special Adviser on Administration and Legislative Compliance to the Honourable Speaker of the Ninth Assembly, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila made the assertion in his goodwill message to commemorate the 32nd Anniversary of the State of the Living Spring. He noted that the state needs urgent intervention of every well-meaning individual to survive economic woes and actualize the vision of her founding fathers.
Speaking with newsmen, he stressed that though the state is not envisioned to fail by it founding fathers but actions and inactions of leaders and major stakeholders may crumble the state.
The renowned philanthropist and consummate administrator noted with regret that despite rich human and natural resources deposited in the state, it still has a long way to go in becoming a prosperous and model of development for other states in the country.
“In the true sense of judgement, a 32-yesr-old child is old enough to be better for himself but reverse is the case. So, let every eminent citizens of the state intervene in its affairs and contribute positively before it’s too late. Osun State is our state and we can’t afford to distance ourselves at this crucial moment. Let’s rise to support the state with lofty ideas that can set her on track of prosperity.
The development of the state is not about political party but about our people. Obviously, there are many impediments locking down the progress of the state and to get off the hook for better advancement, leaders across political spectrum and all sectors must start providing insightful recommendations that will guide against misrule, wastage of resources and impunity. This trend is not limited to Osun State alone.”
He applauded past administrations in the state for their immense contributions and significant impacts recorded, appealing to present government to always seek advice from notable and experienced leaders who can guide rightly.
“Osun State is a big project beyond one man business. It’s our state and we must protect it. If we claim we love the people, we must not allow them to suffer because they’re the direct victims that bear the brunt of bad governance.”
The Ijesa North House of Representatives candidate of All Progressive Congress in the 2023 general election promised to continue contributing his quota in the area of human and capital projects within and beyond Oriade and Obokun Federal Constituency to alleviate poverty and empower the citizenry.
When asked about his assessment of the recently commissioned projects of 4 blocks of 12 classrooms spread across 4 communities in the constituency, he said he facilitated the school project to attract more enrollment in public schools and provide conducive learning environment that will motivate teachers to discharge their duties diligently. He said he is delighted based on available information that the mission is yielding positive results based on assessment.
Odofin appreciated the beneficiary schools for their maintenance culture, noting that more projects will be executed for the benefit of the people.
