The Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Oyebanji, has appointed Modupe Mary Adetiba, the immediate past National President of the National Female Students Association of Nigeria (NFSAN), as his Senior Special Assistant on Student Affairs. The appointment was included in a list of 162 appointees signed and released by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media, Yinka Oyebode.

Adetiba is a development practitioner with an extensive work trajectory in youth and gender development, boasting over two decades of experience in community leadership and service. She has contributed significantly to the advancement of youth-driven initiatives in Nigeria and beyond, demonstrating a proven track record of identifying and resolving complex social issues, designing and executing projects, and exhibiting leadership skills.

She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Ekiti State University and is pursuing a Master’s degree in Conflict, Security, and Development at the Nigerian Defence Academy, with a focus on conflict resolution, national development, peacekeeping, and governance.

As a gender advocate passionate about driving positive change through effective leadership, Adetiba served as the immediate National President of the National Female Students Association of Nigeria. In this role, she led impactful campaigns against gender-based violence and established mentorship platforms for female student leaders, empowering and strengthening their agencies.

Her noteworthy contributions in various roles led to her appointment in February 2022 as a Board Member of the Nigeria Youth Future Funds (NYFF), a six-million-dollar project initiated by LEAP Africa and supported by the MacArthur Ford Foundations and Luminate. This project aims to bolster the Nigerian youth ecosystem by focusing on outcome-driven engagement in leadership, activism, and social change with inclusive resourcing to catalyze youth-led interventions.

Mary Adetiba has pledged to use her new office for the advancement of humanity and to contribute her quota to the development of Ekiti State.
