The Cross River State Government on Tuesday flagged off the second batch distribution of palliative in the State.

Speaking during the flag-off, Governor Bassey Otu who was represented by his Deputy, Peter Odey maintained that the palliative is not meant for only APC members but for all Cross Riverians.

He urged Cross Riverians not to struggle or fight during the distribution process, assuring that the government would ensure that the palliatives get to everyone at the grassroots.

In his remarks, the Chairman Palliative Distribution Committee and the Secretary to the State Government, Prof Anthony Enoh disclosed that the governor in his magnanimity had added five hundred million naira to the federal government palliatives to ensure that no one is left behind.

Confirming the distribution, Cross River state chairman of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Gregory Ulayi, expressed satisfaction in the sharing formula of the palliatives and stressed that the palliatives should get down to the needy in the rural areas.

Expressing confidence in the palliatives distribution committee, the state NLC Boss noted that it is an opportunity for Labour to stand tall and say that the governor of Cross River State is Labour-friendly.
