Osun State Chapters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressive Congress have been trading blames over the former accusation that, the APC led opposition is planning to unleash terror and  destabilise the peace of the state through kidnappings and formenting of conflicts across towns and villages in the state.

The PDP through it’s Chairman, Hon. Sunday Bisi in a statement in Osogbo, maintained that, it was in possession of confidential intelligence from several caucus meetings of the All Progressive Congress(APC) where issues of destabilizing Osun were the center of discussions.

The party posited that some unscrupulous politicians are colluding to launch a wave of kidnappings and communal violence to portray Osun as ungovernable and disrupt ongoing delivery of good governance, adding that “at one of the meetings attended by top APC leaders, several towns were marked as good spots for communal violence”.

“It is strange that a few days after their evil meetings, Ifon/Ilobu erupted in violence again. Few days ago, APC operatives pushed for an uprising at Ikirun, Ire and Igabjo but people of the town rejected the ploy to mobilize them for violence.

“Now, we have reports that there are plans to start kidnapping people randomly across the state. Towns like Ile Ife, Ilesa,Iwo, Ikirun, Ila Orangun , Ede and Osogbo are being targeted.

“We have briefed Mr Governor and we know he must have alerted the security agencies. We are using this opportunity to warn the opposition to be a responsible organization. Osun people abhor violence. They want good roads, modern schools and health centers. They want economic freedom.

“That is why they voted massively for the PDP at all levels. Presently, the PDP is fulfilling its electoral promises. Roads are being fixed. Public service is being reformed. Schools and health centers are being upgraded. Pensioners are happy. Osun has never had it so good,” the PDP stated.

“We call on security agencies to rise up to the occasion. They must brace up for action. Our government has just announced the setting up of. StatenSecurity Trust Fund. This is a commendable step.

“We also call on our local government chairmen to hold regular security council meetings with the service commanders in their area. Such meetings should now be a regular feature. It is the best way to foil the evil plot of Osun APC.”

Meanwhile, the party has commended the Presidency for the nomination of Governor Adeleke as the representative of the South West on the National Minimum Wage Committee.

However, in a separate statement by the Chairman of the APC,Sooko TAJUDEEN LAWAL, the party cautioned the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state to wake up from its daydreaming and hallucination and brace up for the task of securing the state.

The APC  noted that the PDP-led government is a product of maximum violence unleashed on the opposition during the last series of elections in the state.

According to the Chairman  in the  statement issued by the party’s Director of Media and Information, Chief Kola Olabisi said,, by accusing the APC of ‘a sponsored ploy to destabilize Osun State through kidnappings and fomenting of conflicts across towns and villages in the state’ is an attestation of the fact that the Governor Ademola Adeleke administration has admitted failure and lack of what it takes to provide qualitative governance.

Lawal stated that one needs not be a rocket scientist to observe and conclude that through actions and inactions in government, Adeleke and his co-travellers are only interested in power and not responsibility.

In the APC chairman’s words: “Mr Sunday Bisi, the chairman of the Pathfinder faction of the Osun State PDP should know, if at all he has the natural endowments to do so, that the APC does not need any foul means to establish its presence and popularity in the state which is its traditional enclave.

“The State Commissioner of Police shall be doing the people of the state a lot of good if the PDP chairman is invited to tell the police command the identities of the fathom leaders of the opposition who were planning to destabilize the state failure of which he should be made to face the relevant wrath of the law.

“That Sunday Bisi could descend so low to append his signature under such jeremiad tagged press statement shows the reason why the embattled symbol of their government is perpetually engaging in maladministration day-in-day-out.

“Discerning minds don’t need to go extra-mile to observe that it is lack of what to do with governance by the opportunist Governor Adeleke that has been causing the seemingly intractable crisis between Ifon-Osun and Ilobu which, to a large extent, is exposing the ineptitude of the puppet governor.

“Let it sink in the ears of Sunday Bisi and his co-travellers that if they are waiting for us, the APC, to teach them governance, they will do so till eternity as the PDP-fraudulently-produced governor can be likened to an armed robber who succeeded in snatching a vehicle from his victim but he is unable to start it because of inexperience.”
