Police have commenced investigation into the mysterious death of a popular Instagram cloth vendor, identified as Adeshina Olayinka in an Ibadan-based hotel.
Olayinka was found dead in an Ibadan-based hotel, where she had been staying, on Thursday morning.
According to reports, the man she was with had checked out of the hotel earlier that morning and had confirmed her safety to the receptionist over the phone.
However, when the receptionist contacted Olayinka later that day, she did not respond, and upon investigation, she was found to have passed away.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Adewale Osifeso, confirmed in a statement that an investigation into the matter is currently underway, and updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
The hotel management has also released a statement expressing their cooperation with the police investigation and their commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety.
“We regret to inform you that an unfortunate incident occurred at our hotel, Wetland Hotel. One of our guests passed away while staying with us. We are fully cooperating with the authorities in their investigation into this matter, and we assure you that we are doing everything we can to assist the police in their efforts to determine the cause of death.
We remain committed to maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and safety for our guests. Our thoughts and condolences go out to the family and friends of the deceased,” the hotel management stated.
