Police drag man to court over alleged N9.6m fraud in Osun

The Osun State Police Command has dragged one Adebayo Adejogunmola before an Osogbo Magistrates’ Court for an alleged fraud of N9.6 million.

 

The Police Prosecutor, Inspector Lamidi Rasaq, accused the defendant of fraudulently converting N9.6 million proceed of a truckload of dry maize, property of Akanbi Kayode.

He said that the accused person committed the offence on January 26 at CAPSFEED LIMITED.

Rasaq further alleged that the offence was committed contrary to Section 383(1) and punishable under Section 390(9), 419 of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol II Law of Osun State Nigeria 2003.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge levelled against him.

 

The defence counsel, Barrister Kehinde Adepojun, pleaded to the court to grant the defendant bail on liberal terms.

Magistrate A.A Adebayo granted the accused bail of N200,000 with one surety and adjourned the case to March 30, 2022.
