Nigerian Afrobeat sensation, Rema, entrenched his name in the history books on Tuesday by becoming the youngest Nigerian artist to headline a sold-out concert at the iconic O2 Arena in London.

With a capacity of 20,000 people, the O2 Arena is one of the largest indoor arenas globally, also considered one of the largest buildings worldwide by volume.

Rema’s performance at the Arena is a testament to the prowess of the 23-year-old ‘Calm Down’ hitmaker, who recently performed at the Ballon D’or ceremony in France. His concert also featured guest performances from artists such as Kcee, Ayra Starr, Crayon, among others.

However, Rema is not the only Nigerian artist to have had a sold-out show at the highly coveted Arena.

Tribune Online takes a look at other Nigerian acts who have had sold-out concerts at the O2 Arena.

Wizkid (2018, 2021)

Grammy Award-winning Afrobeat artist Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, was the first Nigerian artist to have a sold-out show at the O2 Arena in May 2018. He replicated the success in 2021 during his “Made In Lagos Tour.”

Davido (2019, 2022)

David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, also sold out the Arena two different times. He first achieved the feat in 2019 before repeating it on March 5, 2022. The ‘Unavailable’ hitmaker’s second sold-out show at the Arena featured performances from the likes of Adekunle Gold, Mayorkun, Patoranking, among others.

Burna Boy (2021)

Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, professionally known as Burna Boy, had his sold-out show at the Arena on August 27, 2021. The African Giant as he is fondly called achieved the feat during his ‘Space Drift Arena Tour.’

Asake (2023)

YBNL record label signee Ahmed Ololade, aka Asake, also had a sold-out show at the Arena on August 20, 2023. The ‘Amapiano’ hitmaker’s performance at the venue was electrifying. It is also worthy of note that he arrived at the venue in a helicopter, a development that elicited different reactions on social media.
