For healthy living, every woman must follow certain routine that will help then to toe the path of wellness daily. Healthy living is not about exhibiting spa visits or facial sessions on social media but taking conscious steps and imbibing particular habits.

Self care is an important factor in maintaining wellness and there are no hard or fast rules or a perfect and correct way to do it.

There are however tips to follow that can help individuals:

Drink some water first thing in the morning to combat the natural dehydration that follows a night’s sleep

Maintain healthy eating habit; making a menu for the week can make it easier. By pre-planning your meals you can often eliminate the urge of impulsive or binge eating

Find time to relax amidst the busy schedule; have some fun and connect with people. Indulge in things that make you happy.

Take five minutes to decompress every day; let stress out and breathe. Just relax, shut down and relieve the stress

Always have something you are appreciative of even in the midst of chaos. No matter how bad your day sucks, look at the bright side.

Take care of your brain by challenging it by doing something new. It can be as little as taking a new route or learning something new.

Engage in physical activities like strolling or aerobics

Get adequate sleep. During sleep, the brain rids itself of toxins, consolidates memory, and builds neural highways.

Start your day with something pleasant.

Confront your negativity: Write it down; the lies, negativity and self doubt, then combat that with what you know to be true.

Take life easy, stop to smell the coffee,  find a few moments a day where you simply sit or stand and just connect with your senses in the present moment.

Bond with family and lived ones.

Maintain the right posture. Try sitting up straight in your chair, placing your hands on your thighs and squeezing your shoulder blades together, holding for five seconds for improved posture.

Don’t do what you hate. Don’t compare your body to others’ and don’t expect their health practices will also work for you. Also, don’t live for human validation

Detox from technology and work. Have a period to keep everything at bay and just relax. Know when to drop the phone and call it a day.

Limit your screen time.

Keep friends in your corner who support your overall health and life goals.  Don’t open up yourself to people  that will drag you down and guilt-trip you into old, unhealthy habits.

Don’t skip breakfast

Dump unrealistic expectations; our expectations of ourselves in different situations are unrealistic so you most likely are not able to do all the things you might think you need to do, so learn to   prioritise your well-being above some of the little extra tasks you might think you need to do.
