Nationnewslead report that The Program Manager of the Osun Home Grown School Feeding Program, Mrs Olufunke Adedigba has urged food vendors participating in the program to maintain proper hygiene to avoid disease outbreak among the pupils they feed.
The Program Manager gave the advise today during a routine inspection of schools across the State to ensure that the food vendors are keeping to specifications laid down by government for program.
The routine inspection took Mrs Adedigba and her team to schools around Ilesa Local Government Area where she inspected the plates and other cutleries being used to serve the meals to the pupils as well as ensuring that the meals are served in the right quantity.
She also inspected the premises where the meals are being served as well as the neatness of the food vendors and their general conduct while the meals were being served to the pupils.
Speaking further, the Program Manager charged the vendors to ensure that they maintain the food quality and quantity as prescribed by government, stressing that government through her office will not take it likely with any vendor who tries to cut corners for personal gain.
Mrs Adedigba admonished the food vendors to see the pupils they feed in the schools as their own children, saying this will make them have compassion for them and serve them their food well.
She added that the administration of Senator Ademola Adeleke is determined to continue to improve on the education sector, noting that the school feeding program is so dear to the Governor’s heart, hence his resolve to improve it.
Schools visited include: Community Primary school, Oke Omiru, Bolorunduro community primary school, Ilesha, St. James RCM Primary School, Oke Ede, St. John’s primary school, Iloro, L.A Primary school IMO. Continue Reading
