“That is what they are doing over there. Every student gives something back to the school. The secondary school of my wife in Ifewara will also benefit from our will. We will give Ifewara where my wife graduated and my town in Ora.”

“By  the grace of God, five percent of my estate will go to Ilesa Grammar School, five percent will go to the University of Ibadan, and five percent will go to Ora Grammar School. Our children do not need money again,” Adeyeye said.

“I will rewrite my will to ensure that the school gets from my will. “I have been praying to God that I want to be on a roll call of honor.”

“I  don’t collect awards because, in Nigeria, awards are deceitful. There is no office you get to that you will not see that the governor has won the Governor of the Year award. Nigeria now become rubbish as if we are cursed.”

“Two months ago, my wife and I wrote our will. I came to collect this award from America because I’m no longer living in Nigeria. I paid over 6,000 dollars to come for the award. When we return to America, by the grace of God, we will do what the whites are doing. .

Professor Adeyeye was accompanied to the event by his wife, Prof Mojisola, the Director General of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration Control (NAFDAC).

Also, the chairman planning committee and national vice chairman, Dr Wale Bolorunduro, disclosed that the association has launched N1 billion endowment fund for the upliftment of their Alma Mater and N200 million cash has been raised for the myriads of projects including staff quarters.

In his own speech, the guest lecturer and 1969 set of the school, Dr Akin Fapohunda remarked that, “Old courses of study have become obsolete. We have neither prepared nor been equipped to acquire new skills as would be required in the future of work. We are hopelessly marooned. A very drastic reconfiguration of the educational sector has become imperative.”

He however called for drastic reconfiguration of the educational sector in Nigeria, particularly in Yorubaland and further charged the government to re-shape the future of learning, towards the future of work.

In his own contribution, the state governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke promised that “my government will partner with the alumni to raise the standard of education in the state.”

He further assured that, his administration would not relent in ensuring that, the impacts of education on students in the state supercedes that of other sister states in the federation.
