Suspected armed herdsmen killed three internally displaced persons in Agagbe, Gwer West local government area of Benue State, on Monday.

The displaced persons were ambushed by suspected herders while they were fishing in a community near the camps in Agagbe.

Terna Jacob, the camp chairman, reported that the victims had gone fishing at Gbange/Tomgov council ward when they were attacked and killed. Their bodies were later recovered and buried.

He stated, “Yesterday (Monday) morning, Iorhemba Cletus, 37 years old, of block 2 room 2 of IDP camp Agagbe, left for Gbange/Tomgov council ward together with two others to fish so they could sell and acquire food and other necessities for their families.
