Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service (LASTMA) has confirmed a tanker exploded on the Quadrapont Bridge in the Iganmu area of Lagos State, at about 8:15 pm, Thursday.
A yet-to-be-identified number of people have been burnt to death as a tanker, fully loaded with petrol, exploded, leaving many vehicles still burning as of the time of my filing this report.
A resident of Ijora, Raymond, said, ” A container fell on a fuel tanker and spilt its content, leading to an explosion causing multiple vehicles and humans burnt to ashes.”
The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service (LASTMA), in a short statement on Thursday night, said, ” A tanker Fire is being combatted at the Lagos Quadrapont Bridge by National Arts Theater, Iganmu, as Sari Iganmu and Ilupeju Fire Crews combine efforts to tame the raging fire.”
Emergency workers are still battling to put out the fire as at the time of filing this report.
