The Minister of Works, Dave Umahi has assured that the ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’ of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is on course and is bringing on board, lasting solutions to the accumulated developmental challenges in Nigeria.

The Minister made the assertion during a meeting with the Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya in his Office in Abuja on Saturday.

According to the Minister, “The new policies on road construction and rehabilitation are robust and enduring. Very soon, it will be a new terrain for transportation across the country.

“The scope of intervention by Mr. President is holistic, and palliatives are underway to cater for the critical parts of our road infrastructure that need emergency attention.”

He then shared his words of encouragement with the Governor and congratulated him for his passion to make a great difference in his state.

The Minister also congratulated the Governor on his successful re-election as Governor of Gombe State and for emerging as the Chairman of the Northern Governors’ Forum.

He said, “I congratulate you for your successful re-election as Governor of Gombe State and your emergence as Chairman of Northern Governors’ Forum.

“I know you will bring to bear your wealth of experience and knowledge in tackling the developmental challenges not only in your State but also in North East,” he said.

The Minister shared his words of encouragement with the governor and commended him for his passion to make a great difference in his state.

“I congratulate you for your successful re-election as Governor of Gombe State and your emergence as Chairman of Northern Governors’ Forum. I know you will bring to bear your wealth of experience and knowledge in tackling the developmental challenges not only in your State but also in the entire Northern region.“

Inuwa had earlier made a strong case for comprehensive road infrastructure development in Gombe State and the wider North East subregion.

While addressing newsmen after the meeting, Inuwa Yahaya emphasized the critical role of robust road networks in fostering socio-economic progress, noting the profound impact of good roads, not only for Gombe State but also for the holistic development of the North East and Nigeria in general.

He called on the Federal Government to intervene in addressing the existing road infrastructure challenges, while expressing belief in a collaborative effort that will result in a positive transformation of the road infrastructure for the socio-economic development of the country.

The governor expressed satisfaction with the Minister’s positive response to the issues raised during their discussions, conveying his optimism regarding a collaborative approach between the state and federal government in overcoming the nation’s infrastructure challenges, especially concerning roads.

According to him, “The Honourable Minister is somebody that has the passion to see that Nigeria goes out of these challenges of infrastructure and economy. I came to discuss issues in my own state and by extension the North East, and he has already given a positive answer to the issues raised.

“Our meeting is affirmative and positive and I hope that very soon we shall overcome the problem of infrastructure in this country.

“I believe he has the passion, capacity and political will to deliver on the needs of Nigeria. We are encouraging him and he is encouraging us too to ensure that Nigeria is out of the problems and I have got a positive assurance from him.”
