Osun state governor, Mr Adegboyega Oyetola has lauded Mikano International Limited on its donation of 25 traffic stands to the government, describing the company as a dependable partner.

Oyetola also reiterated that Osun was open to partnership with local, national and international businesses, in critical areas of development.

Osun governor, while receiving the donation from Mikano, makers of domestic and industrial generators, said collaborations such as this are complimentary to the efforts of his administration to improve every sector of the State.

Oyetola, who was represented by his Special Adviser on Works and Transport, Engr. Hussein Olatoke Olaniyan, described the company as a renown player in the energy sector in Nigeria and a dependable ally in the Osun Project in particular.

He said that with such a donation by the company, the transportation sector in Osun had received a boost that could not be ignored.

Oyetola also recalled, with a sense of appreciation, Mikano’s support at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, through the donation of several relief materials and drugs to cushion the effects of the pandemic on the state.

While urging Mikano to keep the tempo of its corporate social responsibilities high, the Osun governor invited other companies to join the development drive of the state.

According to him: “On our part as a government, we will keep the tempo of development high, not only in the transportation sector, but across all sectors.

“Recently, we commenced the maintenance of 25 roads across the state spanning over 200 kilometers. This, among other critical interventions, shows just how committed we are to developing the state”, Oyetola said.

In his brief remark, the representative of MIKANO International Limited, Mr. Salako Nurudeen, who represented the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, lauded the administration of Mr Adegboyega Oyetola for its people-oriented style of governance.

He assured that the company would continue to collaborate with the present administration in its bid to achieve a greater and better Osun.

The donation of the 25 traffic stands, according to Nurudeen, was part of the Corporate Social Responsibility of Mikano International Limited which is expected to strengthen the traffic management system of the state, while also aiding the efficiency of traffic wardens and safety of road users.

The event, which held at the State Government Secretariat, was attended by officers and men of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Vehicle Inspection Officers, Osun Transport Management team, and other stakeholders in the transportation sector.
