Nationnewslead reports that West African Examination Council WAEC has dismissed the raging controversy over the certificate of the Akwa ibom Peoples Democratic party governorship Candidate Pastor Umo Eno describing it as politically motivated and unnecessary distraction.
The Examination Council also vowed to prosecute the members of its staff found wanting by succumbing to the demands of a Guber aspirant in Akwa ibom state Mr Akan Okon to help issue conflicting documents to discredit Pastor Umo Eno’s credentials.
A top management staff of the council who pleaded annoynimity because the matter is already before the court of competent Jurisdiction said the examination body will never allow its reputation soiled by allowing desperate politician to infiltrate the reversed body to settle political scores.
He maintained that the records of pastor Umo Eno in their system is intact and unblemished stressing that the manipulation and conflicting stories are creations of politicians and their media agents.
” If summoned, WAEC will not hesitate to testify in court for Pastor Umo Eno because he has no issues with his results and certificate. We must learn to play politics with love and decorum” he further intoned.
Also speaking, a vibrant human right activist in Lagos Mr Bola Oshola described the desperation for political office by politicians in Akwa ibom as unfortunate and condemnable.
Oshola described as heart wrenching the daily recycled petitions coming out from politicians and their cronies against the person of Pastor Umo Eno to different bodies mostly security agencies.
” In Akwa ibom state what we are seeing is no longer politics but backstabbing witch hunting and pull him down syndrome. The desperation to become governor by most of the aspirants have shown that their mission is not to serve the people but to recklessly line their pockets and loot the common patrimony of the people”.
He advised politicians in the state to sheath their swords love one another while being their brothers keeper.
”’There will only be one governor at a time and it is all about service to the people. The voice of the people is the voice of God if the people has chosen Umo Eno then the rest should rally around him for the overall interest of the state”.
He also advised politicians to channel the resources they waste on unnecessary litigations to charity and other humanitarian gestures as the challenging economic situation in the country demand collective action to better the lots of humanity. Continue Reading
