Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCT) minister Barrister Nyesom Wike has reiterated the need for Nigerians to continue to support President Bola Tinubu.

He said Tinubu has the capacity and political will to take actions that will be in the interest of all Nigerians.

Wike disclosed this when the All Progressives Congress (APC) Rivers State chapter leaders, led by its National vice chairman South-South, paid him a congratulatory visit in Abuja on Thursday.

This is coming as the Supreme Court upheld the ruling of the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) that a candidate does not need to get at least 25% of votes in the Federal Capital Territory to be the president of Nigeria.

The court delivered judgement yesterday in the case of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Atiku Abubakar, against the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidate, Bola Tinubu.

Wike said, “Support for Tinubu is necessary because he has the capacity and political will to take actions that will be for the good of all Nigerians, let us continue to support him.

“We owe it a duty to continue to support Mr. President, irrespective of the political party we belong. It is not hidden of my position, and I owe nobody any apologies- I stand for equity, fairness and justice.

“I thank God that the battle has ended to the glory of God. We are all members of the Nigerian state, and therefore, it is important for all of us to understand that the Nigerian state doesn’t belong to any particular person or group. For a country of this nature, if A takes, the next opportunity should go to B; it is inclusivity, so I’m not going to discriminate.”

In his remarks, the National vice chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC)  South-South, Victor Giadom, said the visit congratulated Wike on his appointment and pledged his party support.

“We have come to congratulate Wike on his appointment as a Federal Republic of Nigeria minister in charge of the Federal Capital Territory.

“We also thank you for the support that you gave our presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, during the last election, we urge you to continue to support the president, your support was prejudiced on justice and fairness for Nigerians,” he said.
