On New Year’s day, a Kenyan woman, Helen Vuyanzi, set herself and her three children on fire after her husband allegedly cheated on her.
The incident occurred at Sirende village in Lugari sub-county, Kakamega, on Saturday evening.
Her first child survived the tragedy after jumping out of the house through a window.
The 35 year old Hellen had reportedly picked a quarrel with her husband about latter cheating on her.
They were counselled by police officers led by Lugari subcounty commander Bernard Ngungu. She was said to have returned home afterwards but the husband did not, to avoid further friction.
Vuyanzi had been married for 12 years and the couple had three children aged 11, 4 and 2 years.
According to Kenya’s The Star, Ngungu said investigations have been launched into the death of the Kenyan woman and her children.
