A 14-year-old boy, Marvelous Ayomide Ogunjolu, who was kidnapped on his way to buy toothpaste for his father in Owo, Owo Local Government Area of Ondo, has narrated how he escaped from his abductors.

The young boy was kidnapped by four men who stopped him along Ojomu palace in Owo after buying the toothpaste and was forced into a waiting vehicle.

According to the boy, the men who threatened him with guns warned him not to make any move to escape or shout to attract people to avoid being shot.

He stated that they initially went to Ore and on the second day they were heading to Akure when he shouted for help.

He explained that the abductors had to drop him off after he started shouting when he noticed the presence of some security operatives.

He said the driver of the vehicle had to enter a street when the shouting was getting unbearable for them and they dropped him from the vehicle.

He however, said he discovered he was in Ondo when he asked the people around his travail in the hands of the kidnappers, and said he was handed over to men of the state Security Network Agency, Amotekun.

He said; ”My father sent me to buy toothpaste from a store on Wednesday afternoon but on my way back from the store, I saw some men who approached me and ordered me to follow them.

“They warned me not to shout and they threatened to shoot me with the gun if I try to escape from them.

“I was afraid and had to keep quiet and followed them because I didn’t want them to kill me. But all along, I was crying and they drove through Akure to Ondo and later to Ore.

“This morning (Thursday), they came back to Ondo. I was in the car when I saw a police car coming and blowing sirens, I started shouting for help. The kidnappers were afraid and they drove off to a street and dropped me there.

“When I asked passersby for the name of the street, I was told it is called Akinjagunla street and I called my daddy to tell him that I am in Ondo now.”

He said the abductors ran away after dropping him off for fear of being arrested by the people while the residents of the area called the Amotekun corps, to hand over the boy to them for proper investigation.
