Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has assured the citizens of the state of quality health care service delivery, urging traditional rulers in the state to take ownership of government facilities in their respective domains.

Governor Oyebanji gave the assurance at a stakeholders’ meeting with traditional rulers in Ijero Local Government Area of the state.

The governor noted that the meeting was to discuss how to improve health care service delivery, especially at the primary health centres across the state and Ijero council area in particular.

While describing the monarchs as important stakeholders in the development of the state, the governor charged them to take ownership of all public health facilities and other government property in their domains to ensure adequate security  and safety of lives and property.

In a similar development,  the Governor paid an unscheduled working visit to the State Specialist Hospital and a primary health centre both at Ijero Ekiti, where stated that the visit afforded him the opportunity to have on the spot assessment of both health facilities.

He assured his administration’s commitment to the welfare of staff and people of the state, disclosing that his administration is working relentlessly at ensuring that all public health facilities across the state are up to standard, accessible and affordable to everyone.

In his remarks, the commissioner for Health and Human services, Dr Oyebanji Filani, noted the Oyebanji-led administration has shown great commitment to the wellness and wellbeing of Ekiti residents.

Filani hinted that just recently that the Governor approved payment of hazard allowance to all categories of health workers in the state, giving facelift to most of the health facilities  as well as disbursed  medical financial assistance to citizens who couldn’t afford to pay their medical bills amongst other achievements.

While responding on behalf of the royal fathers, the Ajero of Ijero Ekiti, Oba Adebayo Adewole  appreciated the governor for counting them worthy of the meeting and prioritizing the welfare of the people.
