…..Foundation To Kickstart Free Health, Scholarship Programme For The Less Privileged
Nationnewslead report that The MOK foundation, a philanthropic nongovernmental organization based in Offa Local Government Area of Kwara State has relieved about two thousand indigents with foodstuff packages as means of extending charity to the grassroots.
The foodstuffs were shared on Sunday 19th of March 2023 at the MOK foundation’s office, Emi Ola junction, Offa.
While addressing the journalists, Mr.Tewogbola Moshood stated that the convener of the MOK foundation is a lover of the masses who is passionate about the well-being of the people. He noted that the convener deemed it fit to use the foundation as a means to give back to society and alleviate poverty in the best possible way. Speaking further, Mr. Tewogbola said the foundation is equally looking into many programs like free health care, scholarship, and other philanthropic gestures to assist the less privileged people in the community.
Also speaking, Mr. Funsho Oredola, a staff member of the foundation said the purpose of the foundation is to extend charity to the grassroots and assist the masses with different challenges. He noted that the Foundation has been in existence before the official launching and it is detached from politics.
Furthermore, Mr. Mufutau said the MOK Foundation is launched to assist the needy, the aged, students, and physically challenged persons. He added that over 2000 people benefited from the gesture. According to him, “It was really crowded but we thank God we didn’t record any casualties.”
The beneficiaries in their large numbers have expressed their ecstatic feelings about the philanthropic gesture of the Foundation.
Speaking to journalists, Mrs. Idayat lauded the gesture of the foundation, she said the relief package comes at the right time when the issue of the cashless policy is hitting the masses. She prayed for the foundation’s progress and breakthrough as they assist the needy.
Another beneficiary, Mrs. Aminat commended MOK and prayed for the progress of the foundation. She urged other wealthy personalities to emulate the gesture to alleviate poverty in the community.
Similarly, Mrs. Habibat prayed for the MOK foundation for deeming it fit to bring succor to the masses. She acknowledged the method adopted by the coordinators to share the foodstuffs. She noted that the viands are commendable and shared at the right time.
The chairman of Physically Challenged Persons in Offa and Oyun Local Government, Mr. Shittu appreciated the MOK foundation on behalf of the disabled. He expressed his sincere gratitude to the Foundation for capturing physically challenged persons in the program.
