Nationnewslead reports that Arewa Taiwo has endorsed Osun State governor, Mr. Isiaka Adegboyega Oyetola, for a second term in office, come 2022, pointing that the governor’s performance in the last three years had surpassed expectations.
Arewa threw this support on Wednesday in elaborate event tagged “Arewa For Oyetola Second Term Health Is Wealth Campaign”, saying Oyetola had been doing a good job in governing Osun, notwithstanding the difficult time he had faced in the last three years, stressing that he must not be distracted on the assignment.
Besides, Arewa clarified that the fact that the state once had a one-term governor at one time, in person of Engr. Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola, doesn’t mean it is going to be the same forever.
Aregbesola was the immediate past governor, who handed over to the incumbent, Mr Oyetola, on 2018.
“The present governor of Osun State (Oyetola) is doing a good job. The fact that we had a one-term Governor at one time doesn’t mean it is going to be the same forever.
Arewa expressed his unflinching support for the re-election bid of the governor, vowing to mobilise the people of the division to vote en masse for him in 2022. Thousands of party faithful trooped out to participate at the event attended by prominent party leaders from within and outside the division
Arewa Taiwo added that “any other contestant for the office of governor in Osun State for 2022 is a counterfeit,” stating categorically that “nobody in the state would say they have not felt Oyetola’s impact one way or the other.”
“This governor is doing a good job under the current circumstances. It’s been a difficult time in his last three years and he has come out well. So, why should anyone upset the apple cart? I think he (Oyetola) is doing a good job,” Arewa stated.
