Nationnewslead reports that The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a suspected cult member and kidnapper, Moses Adelaja, for his alleged involvement in the kidnapping and killing of one Chinese national in February 2020.
While Adelaja’s accomplices were said to have been arrested by men of Inspector-General of Police Intelligence Response Team, Adelaja had been on the run until last Saturday when he was nabbed around 2am in the Emuren area of Ogun State during a sting operation.
The police spokesperson in Lagos, CSP Muyiwa Adejobi, in a statement on Friday said Adelaja and his gang members kidnapped the Chinese at Okunowa, Ijebu, Ogun State but kept him in their hideout at Otta-Agbowa, Ikosi, Lagos.
He said, “They eventually killed the captive and dumped his corpse in Agbowa-Ikosi river. The corpse has not been recovered up till date. “
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered that the command’s Strike Team that arrested Adelaja to work with the IRT on the investigation into the case.”
