The Leadership of National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Zone D has showered encomiums on the Student Union of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) after its announcement that there will be 25% per cent reduction in tuition fee from next session.

According to a Press release by Student Union of the Institution reported by GISTSMATE Media, the Union President Comr. Adeboye Anuoluwa assures students that the reduction in fees will take effect from 2021/2022 academic session and it will not be an empty promise.

The President in his statement “It’s with a great joy and happiness and utmost pleasure to inform everyone of us in this great citadel of learning that the 25% reduction of tuition fee as promised by the Oyo State Governor, His Excellency, Eng. Seyi Makinde would take effect from the next session, the 2021/2022 academic session.

“The Student Union never relented and kept fighting for the full implementation of the tuition fee reduction, and we are glad to announce to all students that the implementation is going to be in operation from the 2021/2022 academic session”.

“Therefore, the 25% reduction means Indigenous Student: 25% reduction from 140,000 to 105,000 and from 120,000 to 90,000 respectively Non-Indigenous Student: 25% reduction from 170,000 to 127,500 and from 150,000 to 112,500 respectively.”

“We hereby urge the student populace to keep calm, and we are assuring you all that the 25% reduction will not be an empty promise, but it will be a fulfilled mandate”

The leadership of the NANS Zone D (Southwest) gives a remarkable kudos to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, H.E Engr. Seyi Makinde for his relentless efforts in making the institution a pacesetter and the best university of technology in the country. We also use this medium to beseech him to keep on with the good work and fulfill all his campaign promises to the students constituency in Oyo State.

 

 

The NANS Zone D Coordinator, Comrade Emmanuel Agboola Olatunji commends the Student Union of the Institution for this proposed development and assures to monitor the implementation and work closely with the Students Union government so as to know how it will unfold against next session.
